![]() If Origin is running, close it by clicking Origin in the menu bar then Exit. Under Advanced settings, click Show hidden files and folders, and click OK to save the change. Click on Appearance and Personalization, then Folder Options. It's like I'm the only one having this issue. Hit the Start button (or press Win + X for Windows 10). I just can't seem to find anything on Google (went as far as the third page), YouTube, or any previous questions here or Ubuntuforums. If it gets to the "Origin is updating" screen, shortly after, the window closes and it prompts me to save the shortcut. I've even gone so far as to go into each origin file and check off the "mark files as executable" and tried that as a variation.to no avail. ![]() I've tried every combination of system wine, 1.7.35 (most up to date in the video), and 1.9.24 (most updated version I have) with 32 and 64 bit, with Vista and 7. Every once in a while, I'll get an error message saying something to the affect of "igoproxy has a serious error" I've tried redownloading OriginSetup, I've tried using OriginThinSetup, I even have an older version of Origin (that, when it updates, just freezes when he gets the login prompt.I don't get such a prompt). I also have to make my Wine Desktop Win7 or I get an error from Origin saying if it's not Win7, it won't work.so I don't click Vista. Granted, I'm using a newer version of POL, Wine, AND Origin. What happens on his screen, doesn't happen on mine. I've followed everything step by step in this video. Jayallen111 The issue is likely that the version of Origin on your Sims 4 disc is out of date, so much so that it might not be able to update itself properly. You should also consider turning off automatic Origin game updates, if you haven't done so already.I've tried seemingly everything possible to get Origin to install on my laptop. I dont know what to do and I cant seem to find anything online that helps. Origin has a tendency to detect and interfere with pirated (EA-based) games such as The Sims, Dragon Age or Mass Effect. I am trying to instal origin the program on my laptop but every time I go to download it a window pops up saying 'this request is not supported'. Select the Origin-related task from the PC, click on the End task option and click OK. ![]() Click the Taskbar and select Task Manager. Clearing the data cache will fix corrupt file issues that can cause Origin not to download Sims 4. I can assure you that the pirated Complete Collection is not the problem here. Open the Local folder, then delete the Origin folder. If it still doesn't work, consider uninstalling your Origin Sims 3 game(s). Hello again and thanks for opening the new thread,ĭuring your installation process, did you have Origin OPEN? If so, have you tried installing the Games4theworld Complete Collection with Origin closed, instead? I myself only had the pirated TS3, and never got such a prompt. I would really love to get back to playing with my sims, any help would be appreciated. I get my mods from Mod the Sims, and when I run their pack files, when used to run like regular set up files, now they start up Origins and the game launcher. This updates it via Origins, and then I can' install any mods. Then, I get to Generations, and it tells me that the base game is newer than the Generations and I have to be connected to the internet to update it. I run the update for the game to continue installing the expansions. No actual game window ever shows up either. The game logo hangs out in the taskbar, but the task manager shows that the game is 'not responding'. It shows that the game installed fine, but the game itself wont launch. Sometimes, I get a code request for the base game, sometimes it just installs. I just got a new gaming laptop and installed SimCity through the Origin app. I have a digital version of The Sims 3, but have been using your installs from The Sims 3 The Complete Collection. ![]() I am running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (I HAVE had the games on here working before, not sure what is wrong now).
